April 14, 2012 marks the 10th annual cultural show organized by Manila Broadcasting Company and the Cultural Center of the Philippines in cooperation with the cities of Manila and Pasay.
Aliwan is a Tagalog Term for amusement or entertainment has invaded Manila once again where the participants paraded along Roxas Boulevard from Quirino Grandstand to Aliw Theater grounds located at the CCP Complex near Star City.
Dubbed as the Philippines Grandest Fiesta, showcasting the different Filipino culture through Festival Street dance, Float Parade and Search for Festival Queen. Winners for this years Street dance for the 3rd consecutive time is the Dinagyang Festival from Iloilo taking home worth 1 Million Pesos in cash. Float parade is the Pamulinawen Festival from Laoag Ilocos, and Search for Festival of Queens goes to Angeli Gomez who represented Hinulawan Festival of Toledo Cebu.
There are also shopper's bazaar where outstanding products from different regions where displayed in their respective kiosks.
This shows that Philippines has a very diverse and rich culture and it’s worthwhile seeing this annually, till next year.
