Kamayan sa Palaisdaan

IMG_0195 Awesome food trip at Tayabas in the province of Quezon. The famous floating restaurant in the middle of a fish pond.

It’s our third time to go to Lucban Quezon to visit Kamay ni Hesus, the famous pilgrimage site and the healing center of famous healing priest Father Joey Faller. My wife’s best friends join us on this trip from Alabang towards Quezon province. It’s a less than 3 hours trip depending on traffic at the San Pablo-Lucena route but worth it.

After a mass at Kamay Ni Hesus we decided to eat for lunch at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan located next town of Lucban which is Tayabas. Kamayan sa Palaisdaan is not just an ordinary restaurant but also a hotel, in fact it is awarded as the best hotel in District 1 of Quezon Province in 2010 .  Dine and unwind at the most nature friendly dining place I have yet experience.

We arrived at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan at 1:30pm, wow it still jam-packed and there are lots of hungry visitors waiting for their queue.

Upon entry to the restaurant, a representative will  take your orders and will write a queue number on your order slip,  just wait for your name to be called to get your cottage assignment or nipa hut. Yes, your dining table is inside a floating cottage or nipa hut where you and your barkadas or families will enjoy eating in a cool, relax, and quiet cottage where you can laugh and talk about everything without disturbing other diners nearby.

Inihaw na Pla pla Php230and Inihaw na Talong for Php50.

Food tastes pass my judgment, it is good. Even the Inihaw na Talong taste sweet and fresh. Even my favorite Sisig, bested my favorite Sisig at Aysee’s.

Eating with your bare hands in the most idyllic place with  good food makes me feel so relax in this  floating Kubo. Honestly you’ll have this feeling to take a nap inside this kubo after eating.

It is really worth remembering dining here.

You may call for reservation prior going to Kamayan sa Palaisdaan since the place is always full and it may take some time for you to have a reserve Kubo but still it is worth the wait.

How to Commute via Public Transport
(Lucena Route)

For commuters, you can choose two routes going to Lucban and Tayabas Quezon, same with private vehicles, this is the Sta Cruz Route and Lucena Route. But for commuters coming from Manila or Alabang, for your safety and little bit comfort I recommend to take the Lucena route because you’ll only take less than an hour compared with commuting towards Sta Cruz unless if you are from the area of Pagsanjan, Sta Cruz and Pila in Laguna. Estimated travel is less than 4 hours.
  • Ride a bus going to Lucena.  Bus terminals is Located at Cubao, Taft Buendia (LRT Gil Puyat Station), and Pasay. Look for Bus Liners such a Jam, Jac, and DLTB
  • alight at Lucena Grand Central Terminal and ride a jeepney towards Lucban.
  • drop off at Grotto which is the most common term for Kamay Ni Hesus Shrine.
  • ride a jeepney towards Tayabas and you’ll pass by the original Palaisdaan Restaurant at the right and just a meter away at the left is Kamayan Sa Palaisdaan
